Job Summary
Coordinate student advising, assessment, and intervention strategies for low-income, first-generation, and disabled students. Develop individualized academic plans, supervise tutors, and manage data entry for E-profiles and progress monitoring. Counsel students on course selection, career decisions, and study skills while maintaining close ties with faculty, financial aid, and disability offices. Organize workshops and resolve student-faculty issues in compliance with FERPA.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Minimum of five years of relevant experience working in higher education or working with students or community members in underserved communities
- Must have an excellent command of professional presentation skills
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Must be able to pass criminal background check
- Official Academic Transcript Required at Time of Hire sent Directly from Issuing Institution to the Office of Human Resources
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree preferred
- At least one year of TRIO experience or previous college advising preferred
- Demonstrated leadership qualities preferred
- Knowledge of Student Development Theory a plus
- Strong computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office Products and Virtua platforms
- Knowledge of counseling techniques, administering and interpreting surveys and inventories, gathering and entering data statistics, developing and facilitating study skills, personal improvement, and financial literacy seminars
