Job Summary
Preach regularly, teach, and initiate spiritual ordinances including communion and baptism while serving as chief shepherd and a member of the governing board. Provide Biblical spiritual counsel to the congregation, identify community outreach opportunities, and maintain a balance between ministry and family life. Procure and maintain personal housing and insurance, and learn Bolivian culture and language as necessary to function efficiently. Raise financial support exceeding $800 USD monthly, with approval to engage in additional employment if needed. Lead the existing English-speaking congregation in Santa Cruz, Bolivia, where the church is expanding ministry amidst rapid social change and a flourishing middle class.
Required Qualifications
- Direct accountability to the governing board of TIC and ultimately to the entire congregation
- Ability to take a general vote of confidence at the annual board meeting on even calendar years
- Regular proclamation of God's Word, preaching regularly, and teaching
- Initiation of vision and leadership as chief shepherd and as a regular member of the governing board
- Regular initiation of spiritual ordinances (communion and baptism)
- Provision of Biblical spiritual counsel and encouragement to the church membership
- Sensitivity in seeing outreach opportunities into the community
- Awareness of personal needs and maintaining a balance between ministry and family
- Ability to procure and maintain housing and any insurance he wishes to carry
- Learning Bolivian culture and language as is necessary to function efficiently
- Ability to raise financial support in excess of $800 USD per month
- Self-supported status (not accepting additional employment without approval of the governing board)
- Entitlement to 4 weeks of annual leave to be used at his disposal
- Ability to take at least one day a week off for personal/family needs
- Ability to supplement preaching schedule with outside speakers as is appropriate with the approval of the church board
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in ministry qualified to serve as the Pastor of TIC
- Summary of theology in line with the doctrine of TIC
