Job Summary
Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for major electric utility providers, including pruning treetops, repairing damaged trees, and removing broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects. Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and foreperson while properly maintaining, preparing, and operating all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts. Apply tree identification knowledge and industry pruning guidelines to complete tasks. Requires valid driver's license and completion of Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program, First Aid, CPR, and defensive driving courses. Full-time on-site role in Erwin, TN with up to 25% travel.
Required Qualifications
- Love of the outdoors
- Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
- Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
- Valid driver's license
- Up to 25% travel
Desired Qualifications
- Commercial Driver's License-Class A or B with Airbrake Endorsement
- Line clearance experience or other related tree work
- Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
- ISA Certified Arborist®
- ISA Certified Tree Worker®
- TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional®
