Job Summary
Process meat products for consumers using hand tools, straight knives, skinning tools, shaving tools, hand saws, and powered whizard knives. Work with machinery and other equipment while maintaining safe, high-quality standards on a physically demanding production line. Perform continuous, repetitive movements including grasping, pinching, flexing, and extending arms while standing on concrete or platforms for up to 12-hour shifts. Operate in cold or warm environments, wet and humid conditions, and noisy areas while wearing hard hats, hearing/eye/body protection, and steel-toed safety shoes. Handle sanitation chemicals and strong odors, climb ladders and walkways, and lift objects up to 30 lbs or 60 lbs as needed. Follow oral and written instructions, work around animal blood or carcass parts, and maintain a positive work environment.
Required Qualifications
- At least 18 years of age
- Willing and able to understand and follow oral and written instructions
- Willing and able to perform a task requiring continuous/repetitive movement, including grasping, pinching hands, flexing, and extending arms
- Willing and able to stand on concrete and/or platforms for up to a 12-hour shift
- Willing and able to work around animal blood and/or carcass parts
- Willing and able to work with a knife
- Willing and able to work in cold areas (approximately 20-40 degrees) and/or warm areas (over 100 degrees)
- Willing and able to work in an environment that is wet and humid
- Willing and able to work while wearing a hard hat, hearing/eye/body protection, and steel-toed safety shoes
- Willing and able to work in a noisy environment using personal protective equipment
- Willing and able to work with sanitation/cleaning chemicals
- Willing and able to work around strong smells/odors
- Willing and able to climb/move on ladders, steps, stairways, walkways and platforms
- Willing and able to bend, stoop, and twist repetitively over the course of an entire shift
- Willing and able to walk long distances
- Willing and able to perform repetitive overhead lifting up to 30 lbs
- Willing and able to perform single lifting of heavy objects which can weigh up to 60 lbs
- Willing and able to lift objects using mechanical assistance
- Must be able to work their scheduled shift
- Must be able to work overtime depending on production demands
- May require certification in order to operate various pieces of equipment required for the position
