Job Summary
Conduct constant surveillance of swimmers during youth triathlon practices, utilizing scanning techniques to monitor lanes, walls, and pool activity. Identify and respond immediately to signs of distress, fatigue, or unsafe behavior by performing water rescues, administering first aid, CPR, and utilizing an AED when needed. Activate the Triathlon Teams Emergency Action Plan during incidents, enforce pool safety rules, and ensure training equipment is used safely without obstructing swimmers. Maintain professional vigilance by staying rescue-ready with proper positioning, conducting pre-practice safety checks, and reporting deck hazards. Complete accurate incident reports and coordinate with coaching staff to maintain a safe training environment. Maintain all required certifications including Lifeguarding, CPR/AED, and First Aid.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum age of 18 years and older
- American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification
- First Aid Certification
- CPR & AED Certification
- Strong communication skills
- Customer service skills
- Ability to work with individuals of all ages
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Ability to maintain good physical condition
