Job Summary
Represent insured clients in court, present witnesses and evidence, and manage full caseloads from inception through resolution. Analyze complex legal and factual issues, conduct thorough research, and draft pleadings, discovery, motions, and briefs. Prepare for and handle all aspects of trials and appeals while providing timely legal advice to internal claims professionals. Assist in developing training materials and communicate professionally with courts, opposing counsel, and clients. Travel approximately 20% for depositions and court appearances. Maintain active New Jersey Bar membership and complete continuing legal education.
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school
- Active membership in the New Jersey Bar in good standing
- Strong knowledge of New Jersey state laws, court procedures, and local practices
- Minimum of 7+ years for the Trial Attorney position
- Minimum of 15+ years for the Senior Trial Attorney position
- Trial experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent legal research, analytical, and litigation skills
- Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and web browsers (Chrome or Edge)
- Experience with legal case management systems in a paperless environment
- Strong typing and organizational skills
- Valid driver's license in good standing
Desired Qualifications
- Admission to multiple state bars
- Trial experience preferred
