Job Summary
Trial Attorney (Wage & Hour) in Burbank, CA focusing on employment law litigation. Represent clients in court trials, hearings, arbitrations, and mediations; develop case strategies and present arguments before judges and juries; conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and briefs; interview witnesses, gather evidence, and prepare for trial; negotiate settlements and plea agreements when appropriate; provide legal advice and guidance to clients on litigation matters; work with paralegals and investigators; stay current with changes in laws and precedents; manage and supervise junior attorneys and support staff; review complex employment law documents; monitor court deadlines and procedural requirements; participate in client development and business generation activities; maintain case files and documentation; develop and implement litigation budgets; coordinate with expert witnesses and consultants; preferred experience with large-scale settlements or mass torts; advanced degree in Labor or Employment Law; strong writing, research, and analytical skills; advanced litigation technology and e-discovery knowledge; potential for competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
- Bar Admission: Licensed to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction(s)
- 5+ years of litigation experience, preferably in class actions or complex civil litigation
- Trial experience, including depositions, motions, and courtroom advocacy
- Strong background in procedural rules governing class actions (e.g., Rule 23 of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure)
- Demonstrated experience in managing multi-million dollar class action settlements
- Track record of successful class certification motions
- Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills
- Negotiation and oral advocacy abilities
- Ability to manage multiple cases and meet strict deadlines
- Proficiency in litigation technology and document management tools
- Advanced knowledge of e-discovery platforms and legal research databases
- Superior project management and team leadership capabilities
