Job Summary
Provide patient care in outpatient settings as part of MercyOne Genesis Durant Family Medicine; coordinate care with physicians, other clinical staff, and interdisciplinary teams; educate patients and families on treatments, medications, test preparation, discharge, and health maintenance; document assessments, plans, interventions, and education in the EMR; administer medications and treatments via multiple routes; support scheduling, referrals, admissions, and outpatient procedures; participate in staff meetings, quality improvement, risk management, and performance improvement projects; maintain supplies and equipment, and adhere to federal, state, and local regulations as well as organizational standards and values.
Required Qualifications
- Active RN License in the state of Iowa
- Compact State License acceptable where applicable
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 3 months of hire
- Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training within 3 months of hire
- Proficient in basic computer skills (Windows environment, MS Office, web-based navigation)
- Ability to read, write and understand English and communicate effectively with patients, visitors, and colleagues
- Completion of specialty classes or proof of other certifications required for some roles
