Job Summary
Drive a tri-axle truck to destinations while maintaining logs according to state and federal regulations. Perform daily pre and post trip inspections of vehicle equipment including tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water. Load and unload trucks, prepare receipts for load pickup, and maintain radio contact with supervisors for delivery instructions. Tarps and trim all loads when public roadway travel is necessary. Adhere to MSHA and H&K Safety policies and meet physical requirements for lifting up to 50 pounds.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (such as the GED) from an accredited educational institution
- Class A CDL with 1 year of commercial driving experience OR Class B CDL with 1 year of triaxle driving experience
- Valid Medical Card
- Clean driving record
- Strong Verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as needed
- Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Must be available for outside weather conditions
- Must be able to handle vibration
- Must be able to work around moving mechanical parts
- Must be able to tolerate loud noise levels
Desired Qualifications
- 3 years of commercial driving experience
- Strong preference for 3 years of triaxle driving experience
- Hazmat and Tanker Endorsement
- TWIC card preferred with CDL class A
- Experience working in heavy civil construction, road construction, or quarries
- MSHA, OSHA or other relevant safety certifications
