Job Summary
Trend Engineer for Bechtel Bechtel Bechtel Expo 2030 Riyadh project sought to support implementation of cost control and reporting procedures, estimating, analysis and control activities on a high-profile, non-routine program. Responsibilities include trend detection, monitoring and reporting to the project management team; forecasting cost and schedule impacts on budget from trends and suggesting mitigation plans; analyzing contracts and changes; assisting in change-focused initiatives; supporting the trend program schedule; preparing cost estimates and comparing scope, quantities, and cost data across projects; conducting productivity analysis of construction operations; establishing productivity bases for estimates; developing cost studies from historical data and statistical analyses; developing innovative techniques to meet project needs; issuing management reports and monitoring budget alignment and deviations; and contributing to risk and contingency assessments. Requires a bachelor's degree and 8-14 years of relevant experience, strong knowledge of estimating processes, Excel proficiency, and familiarity with Bechtel’s estimating software; role is part-time teleworking with a minimum of four days in-person attendance per week in Riyadh, with relocation support available.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent)
- 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience
- Knowledge of estimating methods, processes, and procedures
- Experience in quantity takeoffs, statistical analysis, and cost and price analysis
- Skilled in understanding and implementing technical discipline processes, engineering drawings, quantity determinations, and financial reports
- Thorough understanding of cost indices and escalation projection sources
- Proficient in oral and written communications including presentation skills
- Intermediate knowledge of Excel (lookups, pivot tables)
- Knowledge of BETK – Bechtel’s internal estimating software
