Job Summary
Safely operate a 10-ton class track excavator for trenching, pipe laying, bedding, backfill, grading, and site restoration on active commercial and municipal sites. Expose and excavate around existing utilities with care, assist with installations and repairs, and place components using attachments and rigging. Assemble shoring systems, monitor equipment for maintenance, and coordinate with ground crew for spotting and load guidance. Participate in manual labor, maintain site housekeeping, and follow all safety/OSHA requirements while completing documentation. This hands-on role involves working on small, five-person crews across the Triad area. Operators progress from entry-level to lead or foreman positions. Applicants must have verifiable experience with 10-ton track excavators, trench excavation, and shoring systems, and must pass a drug screen and MVR check.
Required Qualifications
- Experience with 10-ton track excavator
- Verifiable experience operating excavators (minimum 3 years)
- Verifiable trench excavation and backfill experience
- Experience assembling and installing shoring systems
- Verifiable safety training (OSHA 10)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license
- Reliable transportation to job sites
- Able to lift 50+ lbs
- Able to stand/bend/kneel for long periods in outdoor conditions
- English language ability
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen
- Ability to pass Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check
- Completion of assessments required for consideration
- Willingness to obtain OSHA 10, Trenching & Shoring, Confined Space, CPR/First Aid certifications
- Willingness to obtain Equipment/operator certifications
