Job Summary
Greet Summit Base Retreat (SBR) trek guests upon arrival and facilitate evening camp activities while providing information on dining, store hours, and the Summit evening program. Oversee daily check-ins, departures, and verification of trek guests for whitewater activities. Maintain a clean, organized, inspected, neat, and safe work area while modeling the Scout Oath and Law in all interactions. Write end-of-season reports detailing operational improvements for your area and perform additional duties assigned by SBR leadership. Minimum age 18+, valid driver's license, and willingness to obtain a Summit Driving Permit required. Must complete annual health records and register as a Scouting America member. Requires ability to stand, walk, hike, and lift up to 70 pounds for up to 10 hours daily. Work hours are 45–55. Housing provided in a 10'x12' platform tent in Staff Camp.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum age: 18+
- General computer skills (Excel, Word, software navigation)
- Valid driver license and ability to obtain a Summit Driving Permit
- Willing to become a registered Scouting America member (includes background screening)
- Comfortable using Microsoft Teams for daily work-related communication
- Ability to stand, walk, and hike and up to 10 hours daily and ability to lift/move up to 70 pounds
- Complete the Annual Health and Medical Record, including height/weight guidelines
