Job Summary
On-call TreeHouse Teacher for a half-day preschool program (3-5 year olds) in a Christian context, called to lead or assist Monday-Thursday with teaching plans, implementing government-licensed standards, ensuring child safety and development, and building relationships with children, families, and community providers. Responsibilities include meeting with the Early Childhood Educator or Assistant to discuss daily plans, delivering age-appropriate hands-on activities, connecting children to Jesus through prayer and interactions, potentially participating in field trips and special events outside regular hours, and adhering to staff policies. Requires Level 3 ECE or Bachelor of Education, First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness), and a Vulnerable Sector Check; commitment to church core values and membership with Sherwood Park Alliance Church or willingness to pursue membership. Working hours are on-call Mon-Thu 8:15-3:15 (or portion), with seasonal alignment to Elk Island Public School Calendar.
Required Qualifications
- Level 3 Early Childhood Educator or Bachelor of Education
- Current First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to complete
- Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check
- Ability to take initiative and work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
