Job Summary
Tree Trimmer responsible for pruning/removing trees and limbs near power lines; performs climbing and ground-based trimming, uses equipment like lift trucks and rigging lines, adheres to OSHA and company safety policies, applies herbicide growth regulators, maintains records, conducts vehicle/equipment inspections, and may supervise non-qualified employees near energized conductors; requires basic arboricultural knowledge, ANSI standards familiarity, ability to operate PPE, and willingness to work overtime including storm duty; must have 3+ months related experience and a preference for high school diploma or equivalent.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required
- Minimum of 3 months of experience working on tree trimming or clearing crews or completed applicable skills assessments
- First-Aid and CPR cards or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire
- Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s or commercial driver’s license (dependent upon Division and requirements) and DOT medical card (preferred)
- Knowledge of ANSI Z133.1 and ANSI A300 (preferred)
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently, up to 100 pounds occasionally
- Ability to work long hours and overtime during emergencies
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Effective communication and safety compliance
