Job Summary
Tree Trimmer responsible for pruning and removing trees, limbs and shrubs near power lines to reduce vegetation interference. Performs climbing and ground-based tree maintenance using equipment such as powered trimmers, lifts, ladders, hand saws, pruners, and rigging lines. Works aloft and on the ground, adhering to safety practices, OSHA regulations, and company policies. May supervise non-qualified employees after qualification; applies herbicides and maintains application records. Completes vehicle and equipment inspections, performs routine maintenance, and may be on-call for emergencies or storm work. Requires knowledge of ANSI Z133.1 and ANSI A300 standards, ability to read circuit maps, and capability to operate and maintain equipment; strong communication in English (and Spanish skills noted in language requirements). Must be able to work long hours including overtime and travel for emergencies; valid CPR/First-Aid and potential driver’s license requirements are specified.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 months of experience working on tree trimming or clearing crews
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required
- Must have valid First-Aid and CPR cards or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire
