Job Summary
Advanced Tree Trimmer responsible for pruning and removing trees, limbs and shrubs near power lines to reduce vegetation interference. Performs climbing and ground-based trimming using equipment such as powered trimmer lifts, safety belts, climbing lines, ladders, hand saws, and pruners. Supervises non-qualified employees when near energized conductors, applies herbicides, maintains records, and adheres to OSHA and company safety policies. Performs vehicle/equipment inspections, routine maintenance, and may assist with obtaining required permits or licenses. Requires strong customer service and communication skills, knowledge of ANSI and OSHA standards, ability to work long hours/overtime during emergencies, and the ability to operate and service tools and equipment in outdoor, potentially hazardous environments.
Required Qualifications
- Has a minimum of 1 year of experience working on tree trimming or clearing crews or has successfully completed applicable skills assessments
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required
- Must have valid First-Aid and CPR cards or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire
- Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s or commercial driver’s license (dependent upon Division and utility/contract requirements) and DOT medical card in accordance with FMCSA regulations
