Job Summary
Conduct daily tree care operations on General Tree Care crews, performing pruning, removals, cable bracing, and other landscape maintenance tasks. Safely operate chainsaws, aerial lifts, and specialized climbing equipment while adhering to advanced safety policies and hazard tree identification standards. Apply expertise in native and introduced species characteristics to ensure client landscape health. Requires 6–12 months of tree climbing experience, valid U.S. driver's license, and ability to climb without spurs. Up to $45/hr plus benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Experience with proper pruning practices including large shade trees and ornamentals
- Ability to identify native and introduced tree and shrub species and have a working knowledge of each species' characteristics
- Ability to climb without spurs
- Experience with tree care safety standards
- Practical knowledge of chainsaw and equipment operation
- Experience with aerial lifts (bucket truck)
- Communicate advanced understanding of all safety policies and procedures, including hazard tree identification
- Utilize specialized equipment properly for climbing (ropes, saddle, ladders) along with all associated tools
- Apply knowledge of branch collars, and proper pruning cuts with total competence on chainsaw operations
- 6 months – 1-year minimum Tree Climbing Experience
- The desire to work outdoors
- Valid U.S. driver's license to operate company vehicles
- CDL A&B
- Must be authorized to work lawfully in the U.S.
- Willingness to obtain CDL A&B
