Job Summary
Supervise daily tree care operations including pruning, cabling, bracing, lightning protection, and tree removals while ensuring crew safety and proper equipment maintenance. Clear work areas to protect the public, conduct daily pre-trip inspections for Class B equipment, and manage crew schedules. Safely operate tree and landscaping tools, assist with trimming and debris disposal, and coordinate with branch management and customers. Requires a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) class B, 3 years' experience in tree care, and bilingual Spanish ability. Compensation ranges from $25.00 to $45.00 per hour.
Required Qualifications
- 3 years' experience in tree care services
- Familiarity with the techniques and equipment used in landscaping
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL) class B
- Experience managing a crew consisting of climbers and grounds men or related services
- Supervisory experience
- Ability to become certified in EHAP, First-Aid, and CPR
- Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Strong work ethic
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Bilingual (Spanish)
- Ability to lift and carry 40 lbs. (mulch, fertilizer, etc.)
- Ability to load/unload burlaps with plant cuttings onto trailer (up to 50 lbs.)
- Ability to bend, stoop, and twist continuously throughout the day
- Ability to work in/or about situations near direct automotive traffic
- Work near or about natural bodies of water
- Ability to work in extreme conditions – temperatures may exceed 100 degrees Fahrenheit
- Ability to work in direct sunlight for extended periods of time
- Requires protective clothing and personal devices: Eye protection, safety vest, gloves, hard hat, earplugs, long-sleeved shirts, and work boots.
