Job Summary
Research, draft, and negotiate complex reinsurance treaties, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. Lead peer review processes, coordinate monthly reporting for executive review, and coach new staff on treaty interpretation. Drive resolution on client calls and meetings, while developing process improvements and supporting special projects. Act as a subject matter expert for the department, managing goals and objectives to ensure timely execution.
Required Qualifications
- Paralegal degree
- Bachelor's Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS)
- 8+ Years legal, commercial contract or document drafting experience
- 5+ years reinsurance industry experience
- Advanced ability to comprehend, interpret and compose highly complex treaty language
- Superior written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to clearly convey legal and business terminology and concepts
- Ability to translate business needs and problems into viable and acceptable solutions
- High organizational skills
- Ability to multi-task (manage multiple projects)
- Ability to meet tight deadlines

Desired Qualifications
- 1+ year experience as a senior technical lead or team leader
- Progress toward FLMI, ARA or other relevant professional accreditation
