Job Summary
Deliver didactic sessions and life-skills education to offenders within a Therapeutic Community; maintain the Therapeutic Community in collaboration with correctional staff; guide offenders in complying with facility rules; supervise offender work functions according to policies; monitor behavior and report incidents; maintain offender records and prepare progress reports; assist in developing Individual Progress Summaries reflecting evaluation results and participation; adhere to licensure and certification requirements (LCDC-I CCJP-A) and participate in required annual trainings; promote positive social skills and provide feedback to staff on procedures and interventions.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Associate's degree preferred in psychology, sociology, counseling, social work, criminal justice, or education (related experience is a plus)
- Valid driver’s license in Texas with acceptable driving record
- Letter of registration as LCDC-I from the Texas Department of State Health Services or current CCJP-A certification as approved by the Texas Certification Board of Addiction Professionals within 180 days of employment
- Annual in-service training requirements and background check as required by Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) and applicable agencies
