Job Summary
Maintenance Technician for Sarasota County Public Utilities facilities focused on installing, repairing, and maintaining mechanical and electrical equipment across water/wastewater systems. Responsibilities include installing, replacing, repairing, and modifying pumps, valves, regulators, actuators, control panels, and related electrical/mechanical equipment; ensuring compliance with safety requirements including lock-out/tag-out and confined-space rules; on-call duties; and coordinating with the county on job duties and certifications. Requires CDL Class A within six months, Florida driver’s license, and pre-employment drug screening. Starting pay listed as $24.42/hour with steps for additional experience.
Required Qualifications
- A High school diploma or its equivalent
- Six (6) years of experience in applicable trades which include work in the water/wastewater, industrial electrician, or mechanic field
- Class "A" CDL required within six (6) months from the date of hire
- A valid Florida driver's license at the time of hire
- Pre-employment substance screening
- On-call availability
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
- Pass a pre-employment drug screen
