Job Summary
Treatment Peer provides peer-based support for individuals in opioid/stimulant addiction treatment, bridging transitions from hospital, criminal justice, homeless shelters, and OASAS residential programs to outpatient treatment. Duties include outreach, engagement, motivational services to retain clients in treatment, providing navigation to MAT and other modalities, leading or co-leading recovery-based groups, conducting outreach in community locations to connect prospective clients to OASAS-certified outpatient programs, using lived experience to motivate engagement, and completing monthly reports with monthly deliverables. Schedule is Monday–Friday 9:00 AM–5:00 PM in New York, NY; benefits include generous vacation, health/dental/vision insurance, commuter benefits, life insurance and long-term disability, and federal student loan repayment eligibility. Applicants may be fully-certified CRPAs or trainees with supervision during training; must have a high school diploma, be able to work a flexible schedule, and travel across Bronx, Manhattan, and Queens; requires experience with a culturally diverse population in addiction services. Required Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent
- fully-certified or provisional Certified Recovery Peer Advocate (CRPA) or training to become CRPA
- ability to travel throughout Bronx, Manhattan and Queens
- experience with culturally diverse populations in addiction service settings
