Job Summary
The Treatment Nurse (RN/LVN) oversees and participates in residents' wound care per attending physician directives, within the scope of RN/LVN licensure. Responsibilities include observing, assessing, treating and documenting wounds; supervising CNA-provided care when applicable; ensuring preventative measures against pressure ulcers; collecting data for Quality Assurance; consulting with the Director of Nurses/Attending Physician regarding changes; administering medications and treatments; ensuring care plans support wound healing; notifying residents' attending physician and family of significant changes; potentially assigning duties and supervising CNA staff; documenting incidents per policy; functioning as a Team Leader/Role Model; maintaining a safe environment; and possibly participating in Nurse Manager on-call rotation. Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited Nursing School
- Current and valid license in the applicable State
- Minimum of one-year experience in a long-term or health care setting (preferred)
- Knowledge of current wound care treatments and dressings
- Ability to read, write, and speak the English language
