TREATMENT NURSE - LOUISBURG HEALTH & REHAB CENTER

Job Summary
Provide head-to-toe assessments on all new admissions and re-admissions to identify wound conditions and write treatment orders; administer skin treatments and wound care; implement preventative measures (specialty mattresses, positioning equipment, therapy referrals, turning/positioning, nutritional referrals); keep physicians and families informed of wound status; maintain up-to-date documentation; participate in wound meetings and other in-services; respond promptly to call lights; uphold dignity, infection control, and standard precautions; administer medications within the scope of RN/LPN licensure; assist with other duties within the scope of practice; ensure adherence to LTC regulations and facility policies; provide education and orientation as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse, graduated from an accredited School of Nursing.
- Must have a current, valid LPN or RN license from the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
- Must be a high school graduate.
- Must be dependable, flexible, and able to work and cooperate well with all nursing personnel, other departments and have understanding, patience, and tact in working with patients, families, doctors, and others.
- Must have ability to make decisions regarding nursing problems.
- Must be able to teach, instruct and direct orientation, continuing education, in-services as needed.
- Must read, know, and follow personnel, department and Facility policies and procedures and adhere to local, state, and federal requirements.
- Must have working knowledge of the rules and regulations related to Long Term Care.
- Must have neat professional appearance at all times.
- Must demonstrate understanding of staging wounds
