Job Summary
Traveling Land Surveyor needed to produce and verify cut sheets, oversee initial layout at job sites, provide work control lines and elevations for accurate measurement and installation of material, check as-built conditions, perform topographic and cross-section surveys, supervise Surveying Technician and Surveying Trainee personnel, and regularly interpret drawings/specifications for field layout; requires minimum 5 years related experience, HS diploma (certificate preferred), proficiency with Trimble GPS equipment, Trimble machine control, Trimble total station, AutoCAD Civil 3D, GPS surface construction, and a valid driver’s license; field and office work with outdoor exposure and occasional overtime, with local travel involved.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum HS Diploma
- Minimum five years of previous related experience
- Comfort level with Trimble GPS equipment
- Trimble machine control
- Trimble total station setup
- Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Ability to build surfaces for GPS equipment
- Must have good math skills
- Must be able to verbally communicate instructions and plans well
- Must be able to effectively communicate rationale behind decisions
- Valid driver’s license
- Willingness to work outside and in all weather conditions
- Local travel to job sites required
