Job Summary
Traveling Phlebotomist/Specimen Processor in the Laboratory department. Independently draw and register specimens, deliver results, and process samples for reference labs. Travel to facilities in surrounding areas is required; weekend work is expected. Responsibilities include obtaining specimens from all age groups using various blood collection devices, data entry, and effective communication with patients, coworkers, and other departments. Holds responsibilities for specimen processing and handling, with on-site travel to multiple facilities based in Springfield, MO. Requires high school diploma or equivalent, phlebotomy certification (preferred), BLS certification, and a valid driver’s license.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- A certificate in Phlebotomy from an accredited phlebotomy course or Certified Office Laboratory Technician, or Patient Care Technician (PCT) is preferred (on-the-job training acceptable)
- Must have five years of phlebotomy experience, with experience in geriatric specimen collection
- Must hold a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross. Recertification required before expiration throughout employment.
- Valid Driver's License
