Job Summary
Lead a crew of 3 to 6 installers on residential PV and storage installations while managing daily construction workflow and ensuring strict adherence to engineering plans, NEC codes, and safety standards. Enforce Sunrun and OSHA safety protocols, conduct safety huddles, and serve as the primary on-site point of contact for homeowners. Track and submit project logs, photos, and closeout documentation via mobile field tools. Begin with hands-on leadership experience alongside the Chicago team before permanently running installation crews out of the new St. Louis branch starting in early 2027. The role includes a rotation schedule of 2 weeks on-site in Chicago followed by 4 full days off, with the company covering travel overhead, providing a vehicle, and paying for lodging and meals.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of construction experience
- At least 1 year in solar installation
- Solid knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC)
- Knowledge of roof construction
- Knowledge of electrical wiring up to 600 VDC / 480 VAC
- Valid driver's license
- Clean driving record
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Ability to lift 100 lbs with assistance
- Ability to work at heights/rooftops
- Ability to work in varied weather conditions
- Ability to safely handle ladders
- Must be available for 2 weeks on-site in Chicago
- Must be available for 4 full days off at home in St. Louis
- Must have access to a company vehicle for travel and work use
- Must be willing to accept full hourly compensation for time spent traveling between St. Louis and Chicago
- Must be willing to accept 100% company-paid hotel accommodations
- Must be willing to accept daily per diem
- Must be willing to direct, mentor, and lead a crew of 3 to 6 installers
- Must be able to manage daily construction workflow
- Must be able to ensure installations strictly meet engineering plans, NEC codes, and safety standards
- Must be able to enforce Sunrun and OSHA safety protocols
- Must be able to conduct safety huddles
- Must be able to maintain secure job sites
- Must be able to serve as the primary on-site point of contact for homeowners
- Must be able to track and submit project logs
- Must be able to submit photos
- Must be able to closeout documentation via mobile field tools
