Job Summary
Lead day-to-day field operations for ground-up detention facilities, supervising craft personnel and contractors to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget. Interpret drawings, recommend construction methods, and authorize project transactions while enforcing strict safety policies and documenting violations. Manage total construction effort, including building layout and field engineering, with direct accountability to the General Superintendent. Requires active travel to project sites throughout Florida and the Southeast.
Required Qualifications
- 8-10+ years of supervisory experience in the construction field
- Strong experience as Lead Superintendent on ground-up correctional/detention facilities
- Active/Occupied correctional project experience
- Ability to travel to project assignments throughout Florida
- Flexibility to travel more broadly across the Southeast
- Must be able to see well (either naturally or with correction)
- Coordinate the movements of eyes, hands, and fingers with full use of hands, arms and fingers
- Climb and maintain balance on ladders and scaffolding
- Stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl or work at any height
- Lift and carry objects weighting up to 50 pounds and occasionally more
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field
- Excellent communication, organizational and supervisory skills
- Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, and methods)
- Thorough knowledge of all safety requirements
- Ability to motivate employees and handle any situation that occurs on the project
- Thorough knowledge and exposure within prison systems as field supervisor
