Job Summary
Conduct periodic job site safety audits to identify, document, and recommend resolution of hazardous conditions while coordinating with safety managers to oversee post-accident investigations and root cause analyses. Facilitate periodic safety meetings at project sites and coordinate required OSHA/MSHA training, including orientation, annual refresher, and first aid certification. Serve as the escalation point for regulatory questions and act as the company team leader during OSHA/MSHA inspections, developing procedural changes as needed. Monitor regulatory activity and online resources for best practices, preparing routine reports on findings for affected personnel. Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction. This traveling position involves up to 100% travel across the US with designated per diem, a company vehicle, and fuel card, with an average project duration of 8-12 months.
Required Qualifications
- Four-year occupational safety/health degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or construction/mining related safety experience
- Experience with all federal, state and company regulations
- Must have and maintain a valid state issued Driver's License with driving record that meets Saiia's risk management guidelines
- Must be able to recognize hazardous situations and recommend corrective measures essential
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Must have excellent organizational skills
- Must have excellent time management abilities
- Ability to read and process documents such as contracts and bid documents, statistical reports, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to produce routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively with general management, customers, vendors, visitors or employees of organization
- Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal correspondence
- Ability to prioritize tasks in accordance to urgency
- Must be available for travel across the US (up to 100%)
Desired Qualifications
- OSHA 501 or MSHA Authorized Instructor, Part 46 and Part 48 preferred
- Authorized Instructor, Basic First Aid and CPT Training preferred
