Job Summary
Lead safety oversight for capital construction projects within active snack manufacturing facilities by ensuring compliance with owner, contractor, regulatory, and insurance safety requirements. Manage contractor safety performance, permitting, and high-risk work activities while conducting audits, inspections, and incident investigations. Develop site-specific safety plans, risk registers, and corrective action plans, then lead safety meetings, training, and stakeholder communications to promote a proactive safety culture. Track and report safety metrics, KPIs, incidents, and compliance activities to support project governance. This full-time, FLSA-exempt position requires a minimum of 40 hours per week with frequent travel to jobsites. Bilingual in English and Spanish with 5-10 years of field experience is required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Safety, Construction Management, Project Management, or Engineering, or military equivalency
- Must be bilingual in English and Spanish
- 5-10 years of practical field experience or military equivalency
- OSHA 30, STSC, or CHST certifications
- CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications
- Procore experience
- Must be highly motivated and possess excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Must be able to travel and willing to work occasional weekends if needed
- Ability to work in an effective, safe manner with little supervision
