Traveling Safety Manager - Construction

Job Summary

Conduct weekly documented jobsite safety inspections and stop work immediately for any violations or unsafe acts. Establish and lead pre-task safety analyses, toolbox meetings, and project safety orientations for all new workers and subcontractors. Assist in developing the project safety program, reviewing subcontractor safety plans, and ensuring compliance with OSHA and federal standards. Investigate incidents, generate reports, and maintain all required safety records while promoting a zero-injury culture through proactive hazard reporting and coaching. Requires physical ability to climb ladders and navigate construction sites; bilingual Spanish skills preferred.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong management, leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing
  • B.S. in Safety and Health or equivalent
  • At least two (4) years of safety experience or combination of education/multiple years experience in building construction, with a working knowledge of safety/environment principles and techniques
  • Physical ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs
  • Ability to use construction personnel hoists
  • Ability to climb ladders
  • Ability to negotiate work areas under construction
  • Close vision
  • Peripheral vision
  • Depth perception
  • Ability to adjust focus
  • Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls
  • Ability to sit, talk and hear
  • Ability to stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds

Desired Qualifications

  • Bilingual in Spanish and intercultural communication skills is preferred
