Traveling Safety Manager - Construction

Job Summary
Conduct weekly documented jobsite safety inspections, review subcontractor pre-task safety analyses, and stop work immediately for any violations or unsafe practices. Establish and lead orientation programs for new employees, administer participation logs, and issue identification. Facilitate training for site personnel to ensure compliance with OSHA and Federal standards, while investigating incidents and generating proper reports. Assist the Project Superintendent in implementing fire prevention and evacuation procedures, and maintain all required safety records. Identify project trends to execute proactive initiatives that eliminate incidents and support a zero injury safety culture.
Required Qualifications
- Strong management, leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing
- B.S. in Safety and Health or equivalent
- At least two (4) years of safety experience or combination of education/multiple years experience in building construction, with a working knowledge of safety/environment principles and techniques
- Physical ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs
- Ability to use construction personnel hoists
- Ability to climb ladders
- Ability to negotiate work areas under construction

- Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls
