Job Summary
Conduct respiratory care procedures, including patient assessment, airway management, and mechanical ventilator maintenance across multiple system locations. Perform arterial blood gas analysis, pulmonary function tests, and postural drainage while documenting all interventions and equipment evaluations. Administer oxygen therapy, aerosol treatments, and therapeutic procedures based on physician orders, providing patient and family education on home care and device usage. Respond to cardio-pulmonary resuscitations and actively participate in procedures such as bronchoscopy and intubation when indicated. Maintain accurate data collection and record keeping while ensuring all equipment and supplies remain functional and sterile.
Required Qualifications
- Current Respiratory Care License in the state they are working
- National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) credentialed
- BLS Basic Life Support - American Heart Association
- ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support - American Heart Association or Red Cross
- PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support - American Heart Association
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - AAP/AWHONN
- Associate Degree AMA approved school for Respiratory Care
- 1 Year in Acute Care Setting
- demonstrated clinical competency in at least two of the following environments: Nursery/NICU, PICU, ICU/CCU, ED and general care areas
- Long-distance or air travel as needed- not to exceed 10% travel
- Required to car travel to off-site locations, occasionally in adverse weather conditions
- Periods of high stress and fluctuating workloads
