Job Summary

Lead or assist in the installation of electrical systems interconnecting residential solar arrays and battery storage systems to the power grid. Perform main panel upgrades, troubleshoot system issues, and resolve electrical problems while ensuring work meets NEC codes, local regulations, and OSHA safety standards. Support PV installation crews on-site and step up to lead the crew when the foreperson is absent. Coordinate with local inspectors and work closely with homeowners to deliver a top-tier customer experience. Rotate between Chicago and St. Louis with two weeks on-site followed by four days off, utilizing a company vehicle with full travel compensation and lodging allowances.

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent
75% of the hours required to sit for state-specific electrical certification exams
Hands-on electrical installation and repair experience
Work with wiring up to 600 VDC / 480 VAC
Working knowledge of NEC codes
Ability to interpret single-line drawings/PV system schematics from roof to meter
Solid understanding of solar interconnection principles
Basic construction knowledge
Valid driver's license
Clean driving record
Ability to pass a driving background check
At least 21 years old
Strong troubleshooting skills
Logical decision-making skills

Ability to lead when necessary
Ability to regularly transport materials and equipment up to 50 lbs
Ability to regularly transport materials and equipment up to 100 lbs with assistance

Fine motor skills including manipulation, grasping, and pinching
Normal color vision including the ability to distinguish wiring colors such as red, black, yellow, white, and green
