Job Summary
The Traveling Registered Nurse provides individualized nursing care across varied clinical settings using the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation). Collaborates with physicians and inter-professional colleagues to plan, implement and evaluate care, and conducts patient education, triage, and coordination of care through all phases of prevention, health maintenance, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up. Works on 14-week contracts (rotating 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week) with potential to extend or transfer to another Sanford site. Requires an accredited nursing program graduate (BSN preferred) and an unencumbered RN license (multistate licensure acceptable in NLC states). Benefits available for qualifying employees; drug screen and background check required. Experience: at least one year of RN experience and at least six months of travel experience; must reside within 60 miles of the assigned location (Chamberlain, SD or Tyndall, SD).
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program required
- Bachelor’s Degree in nursing preferred
- Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing or multistate licensure (NLC)
- Obtains and maintains required competencies and certifications
- 12-hour shifts
- Contract length 14 weeks with option to extend or transfer to another Sanford site
- Travel experience preferred
- At least one year of nursing experience
- At least six months of travel experience
- Live at least 60 miles from location applied for
- Drug screen and pre-employment background screening
