Job Summary
Traveling Railcar Repairman/Carman responsibilities include inspecting, maintaining, and repairing railcars to customers and AAR standards; performing repairs and documenting inspections; identifying repair needs beyond company capabilities; lubricating components and stenciling; assisting with railcar cleaning and preparation; operating company vehicles and equipment; maintaining a clean, safe work area; and working outdoors with physically demanding tasks. Requires welding experience (4G, 5G, Stick), strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting, ability to use hand and power tools, valid driver’s license, and adherence to safety procedures. Schedule is Monday–Friday with occasional overtime; based in Fulton County, GA with travel, and offers competitive hourly pay plus benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Railcar repair or rail industry experience preferred
- Welding experience required (4G, 5G, and Stick Welding)
- Ability to safely use hand and power tools
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to work outdoors and perform physically demanding tasks
