Job Summary
Prepare and administer radioactive drugs while operating radiation detection and imaging equipment, including cardiac stress/rest studies, HIDA, GI bleed studies, VQ scans, bone scans, renal scans, and parathyroid SPECT/CT. Start IVs and deliver radiopharmaceuticals using Siemens CKM, Siemens Symbia S, and Siemens Prospecta systems within the Nuclear Medicine department of a 361-bed Level II trauma hospital. Work independently as the sole technologist on shifts in an acute environment with an average census of 14 patients daily. Complete a four-shift orientation and adhere to a 36-hour standard week with weekend rotation and holiday on-call duties.
Required Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor's degree in nuclear medicine technology or equivalent training
- Certification by ARRT or NMTCB
- BLS certification
- Minimum 2 years of nuclear medicine technologist experience
- Experience performing cardiac stress/rest studies
- Experience performing HIDA studies
- Experience performing GI bleed studies
- Experience performing VQ scans
- Experience performing bone scans
- Experience performing renal scans
- Experience performing parathyroid SPECT/CT
- Experience performing pulmonary perfusion imaging
- Experience starting IVs
- Experience administering radiopharmaceuticals
- Experience with Siemens CKM
- Experience with Siemens Symbia S
- Comfortable working independently
- Weekend rotation
- Ability to work in an acute hospital environment
- Experience with trauma or high-acuity patients
