Traveling Nuclear Medicine Tech

Job Summary

Prepare and administer radioactive drugs while operating radiation detection and imaging equipment, including Siemens CKM, Siemens Symbia S, and Siemens Prospecta systems. Perform cardiac stress/rest studies, HIDA, GI bleed studies, VQ scans, bone scans, renal scans, parathyroid SPECT/CT, and pulmonary perfusion imaging. Start IVs and administer radiopharmaceuticals independently in an acute hospital environment with an average census of 14 patients daily. Work standard 36-hour weeks across a 13-week travel assignment in Rome, GA, with weekend rotations and holiday on-call availability.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in nuclear medicine technology or equivalent training
  • Certification by ARRT or NMTCB
  • BLS certification
  • Minimum 2 years of nuclear medicine technologist experience
  • Experience performing cardiac stress/rest studies
  • Experience performing HIDA studies
  • Experience performing GI bleed studies
  • Experience performing VQ scans
  • Experience performing bone scans
  • Experience performing renal scans
  • Experience performing parathyroid SPECT/CT
  • Experience performing pulmonary perfusion imaging
  • Experience starting IVs
  • Experience administering radiopharmaceuticals
  • Experience with Siemens CKM
  • Experience with Siemens Symbia S
  • Comfortable working independently
  • Weekend rotation
  • Ability to work in an acute hospital environment
  • Experience with trauma or high-acuity patients
