Job Summary
The Traveling Laborer performs strenuous physical labor on commercial construction projects, safely operating a variety of hand and power tools. Responsibilities include maintaining a safe and clean job site, installing earth retention systems, digging trenches, grading aggregate, and performing daily equipment maintenance. Extensive travel throughout the United States is required, with hotel accommodations and per diem provided by the company. Candidates must complete OSHA safety training, demonstrate reliability, and adhere to union requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Complete OSHA 10-hour safety training within the first week of hire
- Attend required training through the local union training center for the apprenticeship program
- Must be punctual and dependable
- Ability to safely lift, push, pull, and carry heavy objects
- Ability to work in a loud environment and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse conditions
Desired Qualifications
- Previous Hardscape experience is a plus
- Ability to communicate and understand written and oral instructions
- Proven ability to work independently and alongside a team
Additional Requirements
- Union affiliation or willingness to take the necessary steps to join the union (MN residents)
- Must pass a drug screen
