Job Summary
Install, terminate, test, troubleshoot, and service low-voltage cabling and equipment including structured cabling, video surveillance, access control, intrusion detection, and fire alarm systems. Read project drawings, label, document, and maintain installed systems while using hand and power tools safely. Communicate progress and site conditions to leadership, maintain tools and vehicles, and complete job documentation accurately. Travel to job sites as required, including overnight and multi-day assignments, while adhering to all safety procedures and customer requirements. Work cooperatively with project managers, coordinators, subcontractors, and customers.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work from ladders and lifts
- Ability to bend, kneel, climb, reach, and work in various field environments
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors depending on the project
- Willing and able to travel frequently
- Willing to work occasional overtime, evenings, or weekends when project schedules require it
- Ability to meet applicable customer and job-site requirements
- Previous low-voltage installation or service experience
- Experience with security, access control, surveillance, structured cabling, fire alarm, or similar systems
- Ability to terminate and test low-voltage cabling
- Ability to troubleshoot installation and equipment issues in the field
- Ability to read basic drawings, schematics, and project documentation
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Dependable, organized, and able to work with limited supervision
- Willing to work occasional overtime, evenings, or weekends when project schedules require it
Desired Qualifications
- Fire alarm systems, when properly licensed/certified
- Low-voltage experience combined with a strong willingness to travel
