Job Summary
Traveling HVAC Commissioning Technician responsible for startup, commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of commercial HVAC systems on new construction and retrofit projects, focusing on RTUs and split systems; verify installation, airflow, refrigerant charge, and system operation per manufacturer specs; conduct functional performance tests and diagnostics, verify controls integration with BAS, document commissioning reports and checklists, and collaborate with project teams. Requires reading mechanical drawings and wiring diagrams, troubleshooting electrical/refrigeration/airflow issues, EPA certification preferred, valid driver’s license, and willingness to travel; offered base pay up to $40/hour with overtime potential and company-provided vehicle, tools, travel and hotel accommodations, and manufacturer training opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of commercial HVAC experience OR experience performing HVAC commissioning or commercial service work
- Experience with commercial rooftop units (RTUs)
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical, refrigeration, and airflow issues
- Ability to read mechanical drawings and wiring diagrams
- EPA Certification preferred
- Valid driver’s license
- Willingness to travel for project assignments
