Job Summary
Traveling HVAC Commissioning Technician responsible for startup, commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of commercial HVAC systems on new construction and retrofit projects. Focuses on RTUs and split systems, verifying proper installation, operation per manufacturer specs, and performance during startup; collaborates with PMs, mechanical contractors, and controls teams; prepares commissioning reports and documentation. Requires ability to read drawings, troubleshoot electrical/refrigeration/airflow issues, and travel to project sites; company provides vehicle, tools, and manufacturer training. Typical duties include functional performance testing, measuring airflow and static pressure, verifying economizers/dampers/sensors/controls, and documenting system checks.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of commercial HVAC experience
- Experience with commercial rooftop units (RTUs)
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical, refrigeration, and airflow issues
- Ability to read mechanical drawings and wiring diagrams
- Valid driver’s license
- Willingness to travel for project assignments
