Job Summary
Traveling HVAC Commissioning Technician responsible for startup, commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of commercial HVAC systems on new construction and retrofit projects, with a focus on rooftop units (RTUs) and occasional split systems. Ensure systems operate per manufacturer specs, verify proper installation, measure airflow and performance, document commissioning results, and communicate issues to project teams. Collaborates with project managers, mechanical contractors, and controls teams; company provides a service vehicle, tools, and manufacturer training; typically ~55 hours/week with overtime opportunities; annual earnings potential $115K–$130K+.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of commercial HVAC experience
- Experience performing HVAC commissioning or commercial service work
- Experience with commercial rooftop units (RTUs)
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical, refrigeration, and airflow issues
- Ability to read mechanical drawings and wiring diagrams
- Valid driver’s license
- Willingness to travel for project assignments
- EPA Certification preferred
