Traveling Field Mechanic

Job Summary
Perform maintenance and repair work on company equipment, including heavy equipment, trucks, and trailers. Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues, develop solutions to resolve them, and perform preventative maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance and minimize downtime. Ensure all equipment-related activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements while managing vendor and manufacturer relationships. Develop and maintain equipment reports and metrics, communicate information to stakeholders, and implement process improvements. Travel extensively cross-country with overnight stays to support crews nationwide. Full-time travel required; based in Grand Prairie/Waco area.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and diesel systems
- Strong technical skills, with the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex equipment issues
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences
- Willingness and ability to travel nationwide for extended periods
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with diamond grinding equipment
- Experience in a construction setting
- Experience using equipment maintenance or repair software
