Traveling Field Manager (TX)

Job Summary

Oversee and manage larger field projects, emergency response work, and critical customer initiatives throughout assigned regions. Provide onsite leadership to crews and subcontractors, conducting quality control inspections, safety audits, and customer site walkthroughs. Train field technicians on installation, repair, and maintenance techniques while ensuring compliance with OSHA standards and local codes. Coordinate project timelines, material needs, and manpower allocation, acting as a liaison between field personnel, operations management, and clients. Perform routine post-project assessments, document deficiencies, and communicate change orders to customers. Travel frequently, including overnight trips, to support multi-site operations and after-hours emergency response. Maintain organized project documentation and reports while managing flexible schedules that may include nights and weekends.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 5+ years of field experience within facilities maintenance, construction, service, or related trades
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
  • Ability to lift, climb, bend, and work in varying field environments as needed
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively throughout assigned regions, including overnight travel when required
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including occasional nights and weekends based on project demands

Desired Qualifications

  • Technical certifications or trade schooling
  • Prior experience leading crews, subcontractors, or field operations
  • Experience managing multi-site or regional projects
  • Strong knowledge of commercial facilities maintenance, repair, and construction practices
  • Ability to read scopes of work, blueprints, proposals, and project documentation
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations, safety practices, and jobsite compliance requirements
  • Proficient with mobile technology, Microsoft Office, and field management software systems
  • Strong leadership, mentoring, and team development skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities
  • Ability to problem solve and make decisions in fast-paced field environments
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
