Traveling Equipment Mechanic – Hydraulic & Heavy Machinery

Job Summary

Repair, maintain, and service all company and rental equipment including bucket trucks, cranes, dozers, and loaders across Midwestern job sites. Diagnose trouble sources, determine repair extents, and perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on aerial units, tracked equipment, and construction machinery. Operate a company-supplied service truck with a crane, work with hazardous tools like welders and grinders, and maintain a clean work area while following strict safety protocols. Possess own mechanic hand tools, fill out electronic workorders, order parts, and complete daily reports. Requires DOT physical, valid driver's license, and 3–5 years of aerial unit experience. 100% travel within the Central region; DOT medical card required.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid, Active Driver's License
  • Possess own mechanic hand tools
  • 3 to 5 years Aerial unit experience
  • experience with Bucket Trucks
  • experience with Diggers
  • experience with Cranes
  • DOT physical
  • current DOT medical card
  • Possessing and supplying own mechanic hand tools
  • Your knowledge and experience to help grow our team
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
  • Must be able to pass a background check
  • Must be able to pass an MVR check
  • Must be able to work in WY, CO, SD, MN, NE, ND and all Midwest states
  • Must be able to travel up to 100% within the Central region
  • Must be able to work with supervision and support from Field supervisor
  • Must be able to perform scheduled and unscheduled repairs, maintenance and services on all company and rental equipment
  • Must be able to diagnose the source of trouble and determine the extent of necessary repairs
  • Must be able to keep all materials, tools and equipment in an orderly fashion
  • Must be able to maintain a clean work area at all times
  • Must be able to demonstrate safe work habits
  • Must be able to provide proper care for tools and equipment
  • Must be able to follow all safety and PPE protocols

Desired Qualifications

  • Knowledge or Electrical Overhead Powerline Construction Equipment
  • Previous experience with Construction Equipment repair
  • experience with Yellow Iron
  • experience with Tracked Equipment
  • Tractor Trailer Chassis and engine experience
  • Valid, Active CDL A
