Traveling Delivery Driver Class A

Job Summary
Operate a heavy-duty delivery vehicle to transport petroleum products to customers across multiple facilities, requiring up to 100% travel and potential overnight or out-of-state driving. Perform emergency deliveries at any time during a seven-day workweek, including evening and weekend shifts as business demands. Conduct pre and post trip inspections on all vehicles, maintain regular communication with internal partners on route updates, and interact professionally with customers while fulfilling ancillary requests such as tank cleaning and product placement. Adhere to all DOT regulations and protocols while managing GPS route instructions and basic math calculations for deliveries.
Required Qualifications
- Possess and maintain a Class A CDL
- Must have HAZMAT and tanker endorsements
- Must pass a pre-employment DOT physical and drug screen
- Subject to random drug testing throughout the duration of their employment
- Requires some overnight/out-of-state driving to pick-up/source product from vendors or other PL locations
- Must be able to safely and efficiently maneuver a truck on the roadways and highways
- Has basic math skills including: addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
- Possesses excellent interpersonal, communication and customer service skills
- Has an ability to follow GPS route instructions
- Must be able to operate smartphone or handheld electronic device
- Must be able to operate all delivery vehicle types at a location
- Ability to travel up to 100% of the time
- Must be able to perform with minimal or no supervision
- Must be able to sit, climb, bend, stand for extended periods of time, etc
- Must be able to bend, squat, reach, and climb small ladders
- HS Diploma or G.E.D.
- Minimum 5years Class A driving experience required
- Ability to read technical procedures, or governmental regulations
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups or managers, clients, customers, and the general public
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working in an ERP environment is desirable
