Traveling Construction Superintendent

Job Summary
Conduct daily site operations including scheduling, production, and procurement of materials, manpower, and equipment. Supervise all direct labor positions and manage contracted work to ensure successful project completion. Coordinate pre-construction meetings, develop look-ahead schedules, and direct procurement to conform to work timelines. Inspect progress, resolve construction problems, and meet with subcontractors, craft personnel, and clients to update on issues and gather input. Manage labor costs by moving personnel between projects and adjusting work schedules based on progress reports and costs. Ensure company policies, safety standards, and quality requirements are implemented consistently.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5+ years' experience working on ground-up commercial construction projects
- Demonstrated knowledge of construction processes
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to travel to and from the project site
- Understanding and application of building codes and other design requirements
- Ability to read blueprints accurately
- Good understanding and knowledge of subcontractors' scopes of work and tolerances
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to express ideas clearly and effectively
- Use of proper grammar and syntax
- Good administrative skills
- Good management skills
- Ability to establish techniques to effectively and proactively monitor and supervise the work of subordinates
