Traveling Construction Superintendent

Job Summary
Oversee all onsite construction activities and field operations for commercial projects across the United States, directing subcontractors, vendors, and crews to maintain productivity and progress. Develop short-term look-ahead schedules aligned with master project plans, coordinate material deliveries and labor, and identify potential issues early to avoid delays. Enforce company safety policies and OSHA compliance through daily meetings, site inspections, and job hazard analysis while ensuring proper PPE use. Ensure work adheres to plans and specifications by performing regular walkthroughs, inspections, and testing procedures. Manage subcontractor performance and scope execution, coordinate trades to prevent conflicts, and address field issues or escalate discrepancies as needed. Maintain daily reports on manpower, progress, weather, and safety updates, communicating field information to the Project Manager. Assist with RFIs, change orders, and field directives, then manage punch list completion, final inspections, site demobilization, and turnover of as-builts and O&M manuals.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field
- 7+ years of construction experience
- 3+ years as a Superintendent for a General Contractor
- Experience managing commercial construction projects
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, scheduling, and subcontractor coordination
- OSHA 30 certification
- First Aid / CPR certification
- 90-100% nationwide travel
- Multi-shift work availability
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field preferred
- Experience with Procore, Microsoft Office, and construction scheduling software (MS Project or Primavera P6 preferred)
- General Contractor license
- LEED experience
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
