Job Summary
Manage and direct all job site activities from startup through completion, coordinating subcontractors and vendors to ensure safe, efficient work per specifications. Lead daily meetings with clients, inspectors, and project teams while monitoring schedules to address timeline or budget impacts on projects valued at $5M+. Review plans and specifications daily, conduct site walks to verify quality, and create, track, and submit RFIs and change orders. Coordinate inspections for compliance with local codes, enforce OSHA safety standards, and maintain accident-free sites. Utilize Procore to document progress and submit daily reports to the project management team. This role requires extensive travel, including overnight stays, and involves lifting up to 50 pounds in active construction environments across California and the western US.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Construction Superintendent
- Minimum 3 years of recent experience in retail construction, retail remodels, hospitality, fuel stations, open-store remodels, or fast-food construction projects
- Strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing, and scheduling
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project documents
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and Microsoft Project
- Strong mathematical skills, including material takeoffs and square footage calculations
- Proven ability to lead and motivate subcontractors and field teams
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients, inspectors, and project stakeholders
- Ability to maintain accountability and drive projects to successful completion
- Valid California Driver's License with a clean driving record
- Reliable transportation required
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively, including overnight stays as required
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, kneel, bend, climb, and perform general construction-related physical activities
- Ability to work in active construction environments and varying weather conditions
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Procore preferred
- OSHA 10 certification preferred
- CPR certification preferred
